Deliverance: The Gift That Saved My Life

I didn’t grow up hearing or being taught anything about deliverance. It wasn’t something taught in my home, and it certainly wasn’t something I ever encountered in the churches I attended. For years, I lived under the impression that salvation was the finish line—that being saved from sin meant I was safe from everything else. But that’s one of the greatest tactics of the enemy: to convince believers that once they accept Jesus, they’re no longer targets for his attacks and schemes.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”— 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Deliverance Is a Life-Saving Gift
Deliverance changed my life.It didn’t just make me feel better—it freed me. It was the breakthrough I didn’t know I needed. You see, salvation is the doorway to relationship with God…(And in my opinion it is the kindest ministry of God.)But deliverance is what clears out the enemies hiding in the shadows of your soul.
“He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.”— Psalm 107:14 (KJV)
Deliverance isn’t weird or extreme. It’s Biblical. It’s powerful. And it’s one of the most loving, protective gifts our Heavenly Father has given us. In fact it is a commandant from Jesus.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…”— Mark 16:17 (KJV)
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel… to set at liberty them that are bruised.”— Luke 4:18 (KJV)
"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give"
- Matthew 10:8 (KJV)
Self-Deliverance Is Possible
Here’s the truth: you don’t need to wait for a deliverance minister to show up.God has given YOU authority in Jesus’ name to confront and cast out the lies, torment, and strongholds that try to rule your life.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”— James 4:7 (KJV)
Yes, I know how silly that might sound. When I first started practicing self-deliverance, I felt embarrassed.I would shut down and just whisper or think the words in my head. But that’s exactly what the enemy wants—to keep you silent and ashamed.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”— Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
Let me put it this way:If someone broke into your house and tried to hurt your child, would you just sit there and think your way out of it? Or would you whisper to them to go away? No! You’d scream, shout, and call for help.
Well, I’m here to tell you:YOU are just as valuable. So is your peace.Your mind, your heart, and your future are worth defending. So call on the name of Jesus—He is your 911.
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”— Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)
“If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed… nothing shall be impossible unto you.”— Matthew 17:20 (KJV)
You’ve Been Given Power and Strategy
Deliverance isn’t about chaos—it’s about authority and strategy. And no one knows how to outwit the enemy better than our Heavenly Father.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”— 2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)
He’s the God of wisdom. The King of breakthrough. He’s given us a manual—the Bible—and He’s given us authority through Jesus Christ.
“Behold, I give unto you power… over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”— Luke 10:19 (KJV)
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”— Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
This is not about fear or superstition. This is about walking in the freedom Jesus died to give you.
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”— John 8:36 (KJV)

If you’ve been feeling stuck, tormented, confused, or ashamed—there is hope. There is a path forward.Deliverance isn’t just for “those people” with dramatic stories. It’s for YOU.Because you are loved.Because you are valuable.Because you were never meant to live in bondage.
“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”— 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV)
Speak. Fight. Believe.Jesus is ready to answer your call—and He always brings freedom.
